Contact forms

If you use the contact forms on this Site, the information is conveyed to us via email, and a copy is stored on the Site. Any information provided through a contact form will not be used for marketing or any other purpose, other than is necessary to respond to your inquiry.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

This Site may also include cookies from third-party websites, such as Google or Facebook (see below for more information about who we share data with). You can turn off these cookies by using your browser’s settings.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

We may share your information with third parties when you explicitly authorise us to share your information. Additionally, we may use third-party service providers to manage various functions of the Site. Each third-party service provider’s use of your personal information is dictated by their respective privacy policies.

Google Analytics – tracks website usage and provides information such as referring websites and user actions on the Site. Google Analytics may capture your IP address, but no other personal information is captured.

MailerLite – used to deliver email updates and newsletters. We store only your name and email address for the purposes of sending these communications. We also use this service to ask you to confirm that you want to be added to our mailing list, to ensure that you are not added in error.

Retargeting Ads – From time to time, we may engage with third-party companies, such as Google or Facebook, to market the Site. These companies use cookies to serve ads based on someone’s past visits to the Site.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Data conveyed to Google Analytics is also retained indefinitely, but is used only in its aggregate form to examine trends over time.

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments on the Site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

If you choose to subscribe to our newsletter, but later change your mind, you can unsubscribe at any time, using the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we have sent.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Sign ups to our mailing list/newsletter are sent to MailerLite and the data provided (i.e. names and email addresses) are stored by them.
